Offering trips to locations in France plus the Channel Islands of Guernsey and Sark, I Travel have been immensely pleased by the positive response from customers. 2011 will see a continuation of the service with many exciting offers.
We were joined by Brenda Dupuis, our fantastic courier, with 25 years of experience, who is well known and popular with Channel Islanders visiting France.
The season started off with a day out and lunch for our colleagues in the hospitality business and was a resounding success, giving them the chance to experience visiting popular French destinations and enjoy a gourmet lunch in Dinan. Musical accompaniment at lunch was provided by David Henderson on the accordion.

A 365 Mile Round Tour for Guernsey's Old Car Club
I Travel organised this visit to France in May 2008 by the Guernsey Old Car Club.
The Club travelled from Guernsey to St. Malo and on to Combourg where they stayed at the picturesque three star Hotel du Lac. The hotel offers a warm welcome and the chance to eat regional food and also boasts a "Pub Anglais " in which to take pre-dinner drinks.
From Combourg the cars travelled the 136 mile distance to Maulevrier in the Loire Atlantique, where they spent three nights at the luxurious, three star Chateau Colbert which was a perfect "back drop" for the old vehicles. The standards in this beautiful establishment are particularly high.
The Chateau is furnished with antiques, has retained its historic features including marble fireplaces and magnificent staircases and has an exciting history. Reception rooms are named "Colbert" "Pompadour", "Soflet" and "Louis XVI". (In fact the sphinxes in the "Cour d'honeur" have the faces of the famous Mesdames Pompadour and du Barry").
The Chateau is famous for its magnificent gardens which include an oriental garden open to the general public.
Maulevrier and the Chateau are close to Nantes, Chôlet, Poitiers with its Futuroscope, Puy du Fou and the vineyards of Anjou and Muscadet. The three day stay should provide a good chance to enjoy the region.
From Maulevrier the club travelled 88 miles to Chateaubriant staying overnight at Hotel De La Ferriere before returning to St Malo and a return to Guernsey.

Golf Weekend at Pleneuf Val André for Regular Clients
This included a picnic lunch. Dinner was enjoyed on the Saturday with an overnight stay and breakfast at the Grand Hotel du Val André, followed by Sunday lunch. This was great fun and this event or similar will be repeated next year.

More Exciting Ski Resorts! This is the time of year when many people look forward to the crispness of winter and the clear blue skies of the French Alps. We are able to offer even more winter resorts for skiers and lovers of snow and ice sports or for those people who simply want to visit the mountains, enjoy being pampered in some of the luxury resorts or the après-ski! The resorts we have selected are delightful and we have some fantastic offers available for Channel Islanders. Click here to find out more. There are 20 resorts from which to choose and our range and quality of accommodation has increased even more this year.
New Destinations for Serious Shoppers We offer a variety of Shopping Expeditions. Apart from the shopping aspect there is the chance to visit locations such as Rennes and Paris as well as the more familiar Saint Malo. We have special offers of day shopping breaks, weekend shopping breaks and longer.
Day Trips to Cancale Our Special Offer Day Away to Cancale has proved very popular. Cancale, renowned for sea food served in the many restaurants which stretch along the seafront, is the perfect venue to eat, relax and enjoy the unique atmosphere that is Cancale. I Travel offer a trip which includes all travel, both boat and coach and a three course lunch. If you are an enthusiast, Karting can be included.
Paris Paris has come closer with the TGV departing from St. Malo. We organise travel which can be by ferry and then high speed train with arrival by the afternoon of the day you set off! Our customers have gone to Pop Concerts, visited Disneyland Resort Paris, gone on shopping excursions or have simply enjoyed the romantic and beautiful city.
Closer to Home Brittany, being close to the islands is always a popular destination and some Jersey people refer to Saint Malo as the "thirteenth Parish." and many customers have enjoyed staying closer to home in Brittany. Our trip to the 2006 Dinan Fete de Remparts was greatly enjoyed. Many have enjoyed staying in a most picturesque and romantic Chateau which stands in beautiful countryside a short distance from some of Brittany's most charming towns and have luxuriated in the sophistication and high standards combined with charm and ambience - all brought together by the talented artist and chef who owns the hotel. Many people this year have gone on inter island and England breaks. We have organised a variety of short breaks and longer ones, to the other Channel Islands. We organised everything including hire cars in all locations except Sark where travel is by horse and cart, bicycle or on foot!
As always, we thank all our customers for their loyalty and are delighted at the successful outcome of the breaks, tours and occasions we have organised. I. Travel would also like to thank the ferry companies, airlines, hoteliers, restauranteurs and location organisers who have fulfilled their promises for us and made Channel Islanders' holiday dreams come true.
